Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive? We are seeking a Substitute Teacher for our STAR 4 centers. In this role, you’ll provide coverage and support across various classrooms, fostering a nurturing and enriching environment for children. You’ll assist in delivering lessons aligned with the Creative Curriculum and PA Early Learning Standards, maintain best practices in education and health, and contribute to the assessment of each child’s growth. Collaborate with experienced educators, engage with parents, and help guide children through their educational journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom coverage as needed, stepping in for lead or assistant teachers to ensure a consistent and safe learning environment.
  • Support the delivery of curriculum-based activities and lessons planned by the lead teacher.
  • Supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation in classroom routines.
  • Maintain a professional, supportive, and positive demeanor when interacting with children, staff, and administrators.
  • Guide children toward positive behavior choices using established classroom management techniques and support strategies.
  • Follow established procedures for classroom organization and daily operations, including setup and cleanup, to maintain a supportive environment for children’s learning.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; CDA preferred.
  • At least two years' experience in early childcare education (2,500 verified hours).
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents/guardians.
  • Ability to maintain high level standards of confidentiality regarding center, staff, and family matters.
  • Understanding of DHS licensing, Keystone Stars, and accreditation standards.
  • Proficient in managing a multicultural classroom environment.
